1st UNO General Assembly: Opening Speech

                         Welcome to the 1st Annual General UNO Assembly hosted by our nation, Vulcanities! I am overjoyed at seeing each and every one of your nations in attendance today on the start of this wonderful new year! 2081 is bound to bring many new challenges for Orbis to overcome and along with it many usual joys. Vulcanities is glad to host this event which celebrates world peace and at the same time allows leaders to have an easy forum for talking things out. As many of you have seen upon arriving in our beautiful capital, The Holy Tomb, Vulcanities is a nation who has found an inner peace within itself, which has allowed it to flourish. We aren’t perfect. We have our own unique set of difficulties, but we are a nation constantly working towards the betterment of ourselves and then others. We hope this conference sets some of those same values we hold so dear in your hearts. But take notes of our difficulties and do better than we can. 

While you are here in The Holy Tomb, please explore its unique architecture and explore the ancient city. We hope to show you the new styles and crafting's Vulcanitities’ engineers and architects have been creating. Recently, our blend of modern and ancient architecture on skyscrapers has caught the eye of the world. Our artists are constantly creating the latest design each ready to show how far we have come in our small, and humble, history. Explore the vast cave network that runs under the city and immerse yourself in the historical aura that floods the caves. Who knows, maybe it was your ancient ancestor who once tread this or that path. To dive even deeper into Vulcanities culture please view the [explore the host] channel. 

Enough about us though, let’s talk about this crazy world that we live in. Many see each coming news cycle as the next crashing wave that will hit us. Each one is more of an opportunity to grow than anything. We find out more about our nation’s resolve and who it is in each coming news cycle than anywhere else. Stand the test of time, we shall! Diminished, never! At the time of writing, I find that some of the biggest issues our RP community faces are ones we have seen before. Crazy scammers seeking to hide honestly worked bulletins, another possibly looming world war, ideological conflicts, humanitarian crises’, faulty leaders, land claim issues, and on and on. But Orbis, one thing is for sure, while these issues may always happen, we will, each one of us, be there ready to face it head on and honestly. Make note, all of you, to never doubt a single person in this room today. Each one gifted in their own way, and willing to give their all for their people! I encourage each and every one of you to go to the [debate room] to give life to honest discussion about each and every one of these topics or continue talking in this channel which shall act as our general chat through this event. 

To continue, I would like to address the rise in factions at the U.N.O. Factions are a great way to efficiently get things done at the U.N.O and we would like to let everyone know that during this time contact your faction leader and let them know if there were any general resolutions you would like them to suggest in the [general resolutions] channel. As for faction leaders at the end of this week of discussion, we ask that you make sure to meet in [faction leader] to discuss the renewal of the U.N.O and where the next U.N.O General Assembly should be held. 

Finally, as this speech winds down, I want to thank every attendee for joining us in the ongoing collaboration, the UNO! It’s a testament to our connectivity that we meet each year to discuss what matters most. I hope that we can find that we are more similar than we think, and through this finding we can bring a greater sense of connection to each other. Enjoy the rest of the conference Orbis!
