The Great Departure, the day that is embedded into the history of Libertas. The day many moons ago, a group of visionary Libertasi sought to escape from the injustice and tyranny that had caused ruin upon them, for moons upon moons. They sought neither gold nor glory. For what they sought after was the true freedom of their people, not just in common belief of men, and well-written laws, but in truth. Thus, The Republic was born.
In its birth stage, the rather young Republic was plagued with never ending raids and chaos. The Libertas Guard emerged as its defender. Brave and selfless, they protected their sovereignty, as the founding fathers gave them it. Many men succumbed to the raids that rained terror over the many cities of the Republic, for many moons. Their valor and sacrifice paid off in the end, inspiring many administrations to come. Sooner than later peace reigned over the Republic, the Republic now flourished and prospered as it had long before the onslaught of pirates.
