History: | The Republic of Siberia was not built in a day, nor in a single revolution, but in cycles of collapse and rebirth. In the 21st century, as the Russian Federation crumbled under economic stagnation and political corruption, Siberia was written off as a frozen wasteland of mines, gulags, and dwindling towns. Yet when Moscow’s grip finally broke during the Energy Wars of the 2050s, Siberia seized its chance. Armed uprisings began in Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, and Yakutsk, led by workers who had grown tired of fueling the empire while living in poverty. The turning point came in 2061, when the great Arctic blackout left half of Russia in darkness. While the West scrambled for power, Siberian militias stormed military depots and declared independence. Within months, the red-and-black banner of the new state flew across the taiga. Moscow attempted reconquest but underestimated the scale of Siberia’s defiance. Harsh winters, scorched supply lines, and the defection of entire Siberian divisions ensured the empire’s defeat. On January 1, 2065, the Republic of Siberia was proclaimed in Novosibirsk. It called itself socialist, but real power quickly consolidated under the Supreme People’s Council, a one-party structure controlled by generals and party elites. Elections became ritual, dissent became treason, and the Komissariat for State Security became the steel hand that gripped every village and factory. Over the next century, Siberia transformed itself into both fortress and machine. Entire cities rose from permafrost, designed as self-sufficient military-industrial hubs. By 2100, while other nations crumbled from climate collapse, Siberia’s brutal efficiency allowed it to not only survive but expand influence across the polar regions. In the present year 2115, the Republic of Siberia stands not yet as a global titan, but as a young state hardened by its birth in rebellion.Yet the republic has not chosen isolation. By joining The Grand Communist Alliance, Siberia has bound its destiny to comrades beyond its borders, trading strength for protection and solidarity. |
