Early Life (1991 – 2025)
Born in Dresden in 1991, Wilhelm Falkenrath was the son of a Bundeswehr officer and a history teacher. He graduated from the German Army Officer School in Dresden, later serving in NATO rapid response forces during the escalating tensions of the late 2020s. Known for his uncompromising discipline and photographic memory, Falkenrath gained a reputation as both a strict commander and a gifted strategist.

Rise to Power (2025 – 2033)
When the Third World War broke out in 2027, Falkenrath was a colonel in charge of armored divisions stationed in Thuringia. After Berlin’s destruction in 2031, most of Germany’s leadership fled or was captured. Falkenrath refused evacuation, instead rallying remnants of German, French, and British troops into a mobile defensive force that fought delaying actions across central Germany.

By late 2032, with the Russian advance halted along the Rhine and Elbe, Falkenrath launched Operation Morgenstern (Morning Star), a daring winter counter-offensive to retake Berlin. In February 2033, the battered but united forces reclaimed the city’s ruins. Three months later, the Provisional Western Defense Council formally declared the creation of the Hoffnungsbastion, naming Falkenrath its Archprotektor — the supreme civil and military ruler.

Rule of the Hoffnungsbastion (2033 – Present day)
Falkenrath ruled from the rebuilt core of Berlin, now called Reichslicht. The core was named Eisernes Herz (Iron Heart), symbolizing the city’s role as the unbreakable center of the last free Europe. His leadership style fused martial law with ceremonial pageantry — mass rallies in the new Victory Square, oath-taking ceremonies for every citizen at 18, and the cult of the Letzte Wächter Europas.
