Welcome.

Our country, Türkiye, is a vast, beautiful country. From the dense urban metropolis of Istanbul, to the rich green countryside of the north, to the Turkish Rivera in the south, there is always something for you to do.

Our country was not founded easily, it was founded with struggle. Before the republic, Türkiye was part of a massive empire, known as the Ottoman Empire. In the dawn of the 20th century, the Ottoman Empire was known as the "sick man of Europe," loosing wars against Italy and the Balkans. In 1914, it got itself into the First World war on the Central Powers side. It was a fail. The ottomans got humiliated in almost every battle, until the end of the war. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was a Brigadier General of the Ottoman Army, when he fought the Turkish War of Independence. The Turkish Army fought against the British, French, Greeks and won. Atatürk pushed the Greek army and marched to Izmir. The republic was founded.

Our current president

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been Prime Minister of the country from 2003 to 2014 and President from 2014 to now, as part of the Justice and Development party. He has ruled the country with an iron fist since taking office. in 2016, he rallied the people up, to stop a violent coup from taking place by the the Peace at Home Council.

Our flag

The Turkish flag is the national and official flag of the Republic. It consists of a white crescent and star on top of a red background. According to legend, the blood red on the flag symbolises the shed blood of martyrs. It was said to be formed with the crescent moon and a star reflected on the blood at midnight. This was said to be taken place in the First Battle of Kosovo in 1389

Our National Anthem

The Turkish national anthem was written by the poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy during the Turkish war of Independance

Sönmeden yurdumun üstünde tüten en son ocak.
O benim milletimin yildizidir parlayacak;

Kahraman irkima bir gül! ne bu siddet bu celal?
Sana olmaz dökülen kanlarimiz sonra helal,
Hakkidir, Hak'ka tapan, milletimin istiklal!

Fear not, the crimson flag, waving in these dawns will never fade
Before the last hearth that is burning in my nation vanishes.
That is my nation's star, it will shine;
That is mine, it belongs solely to my nation.


Oh coy crescent do not frown for I am ready to sacrifice myself for you!
Please smile upon my heroic nation, why that anger, why that rage?
If you frown, our blood shed for you will not be worthy.
Freedom is the right of my nation who worships God and seeks what is right.
