After the fall of the old world in 20XX, The Republic of Vanguard, (ヴァンガード共和国 in Japanese) was formed by former Japanese citizens left over from the war.

Set up on the island of Shikoku (四国), the Republic of Vanguard is aiming to expand back out from Chugoku to the mainland.
