The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is composed of 3 states and 1 district. 
Eastern Massachusetts is the most highly populated state. The capital of Eastern Massachusetts is Cambridge, wherein Harvard University, North America’s oldest and most prestigious, shines as an example.

Central Massachusetts is the second most heavily populated state. The capital of Central Massachusetts is Worcester; home to elite schools and revitalized industry.

Western Massachusetts is the most sparsely populated state. The capital is Springfield; the birthplace of basketball, Dr. Seuss, and the namesake of the springfield rifle, formerly serving as the United States Armory, the city has a historic tradition of innovation, creativity, and economic might that has been wasted until the birth of the Commonwealth as an autonomous nation.

The district of Boston, similar to that of Columbia, serves as the capitol of the nation. Also similar to DC, it remains a district so that one state does not have undue sway over the federal government due to the positioning of the headquarters of the federal government.

During the 20th century, Massachusetts was home to many thousands of factory jobs in its cities. Once those jobs dried up, poverty ran rampant in the places that once flourished. Since the rise of the the Commonwealth as an independant nation, those once abandoned factories became home once again to thousands of new jobs and launched the Commonwealth into the industrial and economic powerhouse it is today, only a few years later.
