History: The Marquisat is created in 1701 by Louis the XIV that give it more autonomy. In 1789 the Marquisat declare independance and after the battle of les Avaloirs the independance was securred. The French army defeated recognised the new nation and the Marquisat was founded. In 1801 Napoleon tries to invade the Marquisat. It ends up in failure but he puts it under siege and in 1803 after the UK signed peace with France and stopped supporting the Marquisat, Straussia finally gave in. In 1814 it's liberated by Austrian forces. Quite ironically Austria will remain after that one of Straussia's greatest ally for exactly one century. During the Austro-Prussian war of 1866 Straussia will send it's army to help Austria. In 1870 Straussia sided with France against Prussia and while they managed to hold the line with the french for a bit, they got absolutely blasted and on the 3rd of January surrendered. On the peace treaty Prussia stated that the ANS shall be limited to 1.5% of the population and that a new monarch shall be crowned. This will give a very particular situation where a presidential republic has a monarch and has the name of Marquisat instead of republic. In 1914 Straussia sided with the entente. Yes it's alliance with Austria-Hungary was important yet the pressure of the UK and France added to the fact that teaming up with Austria would mean teaming up with Germany, which Straussia still had not forgiven what they had done to them in 1874. During WW2 Straussia will remain neutral until 1944 where on the 11 of june it enters the war with the allies. During the cold war it will remain one of the only European country to be neutral.

Industries: Straussia is the third country in Europe to enter the industrial revolution between 1818 and 1825, they enter the industrial revolution and will become a huge producer of coal, iron, lead and food. They will trade a lot with France supplying around 26 to 31 percent of the demand for coal. In 1871 after the peace treaty with the North German Confederation it's stated that 75% of Straussia's production of coal, iron and lead shall be given to the newly formed German Empire until 1875. In 1874 after a revolt from the coal miners the German Empire intervene and demand now 80% of the production and until 1891. In 1911 Straussia launch the production of steel. In 1914 as the first world war start Straussia side with France. That will end up being very beneficial as France will provide money to make more mines and factories and after the treaty of versaille of 1918 Straussia will not only get war reparations for world war one but also for what happened between 1871 and 1891.
Military
History: The ANS or "Armée Nationale Straussienne" (Straussian National Army) is founded in 1863. Back then the "Marquisat de Straussia" was an absolute monarchy with a pretty bad kicking who abolished the Straussian Royal Army thinking that abolishing an army to create a new one would make the army better. Turns out it didn't. When in 1868 after the battle of Armandville the ANS is shattered, the imperial army of France beat the ANS and this will cause a revolution leading to the establishment of a parlimentary republic. In 1870 Straussia sided with France against Prussia and while they managed to hold the line with the french for a bit, they got absolutely blasted and on the 3rd of January surrendered.
