2000–2010: The Forgotten Isles Awaken

Off the Iberian coast, between storm-swept waters and forgotten naval charts, lay a cluster of small islands long abandoned by Spain during colonial redistributions. Deemed economically worthless, these “Ghost Isles” became a refuge for outcasts: environmental dissidents, post-Soviet idealists, and wanderers rejected by both East and West. Among them emerged Feroin Zanchla, a former statistician turned radical philosopher, who envisioned the birth of a new society—one free from corporate greed and state surveillance.

By 2005, these settlers declared themselves the Romisentian Commune, inspired by eco-Marxist theory and indigenous autonomy. Land was shared. Work was communal. Their motto: “Each by strength, all by number.”

2010–2018: The Communal Crisis

Initially, Romisenti thrived. Powered by wind turbines and seaweed biofuel, its small population grew to over 800. They built vertical gardens, repurposed Spanish naval ruins into schools, and created a barter economy sustained by fishing, salt, and software services.

But peace faltered. By 2016, internal schisms arose—some clung to purist communism, others leaned toward pragmatic capitalism. Pirates harassed their shipping lanes. A red algae bloom in 2017 decimated their main food source. The Council fractured.

2019–2023: Zanchla’s Coup and the Stratocracy

In 2019, Feroin Zanchla staged what he called the “Rational Correction.” Backed by the small Romisentian Defense Fleet, he dissolved the Assembly and replaced it with a military-led administration. This Stratocracy introduced structured defense, centralized planning, and civil-military training for all citizens.

Currency was introduced—the Mexican Peso, chosen to align trade with Latin America. Romisenti joined the Beige Protection Bloc, claiming neutrality in global disputes. It pursued “Manifest Destiny,” but not territorial conquest—rather, data conquest: mapping ocean floors, harvesting rare minerals, and selling precision marine forecasts.

2024: The Statistical Revolution

In 2024, Zanchla revealed his final transformation: Statism. The government now operated entirely on metrics. Every citizen’s productivity, education, carbon output, and even emotional states (measured by biometric wearables) became factors in national policy. The economy, now post-monetary internally, was run by the Algorithmic Council—a rotating panel of AIs and human analysts.

The official religion was declared Judaism, honoring the first settlers who preserved Romisenti’s laws and traditions. The national animal became the Coyote, a symbol of cunning survival.

2025: Nationhood Declared

On May 25, 2025, Romisenti declared official sovereignty under the international designation Nation ID #692558. With a clean environment, a low population density (4 per sq. mi), and $372 million GDP, it shocked analysts. Though tiny, Romisenti had crafted a utopia of numbers, code, and order.

No wars. No pollution. Just 250 square miles of carefully managed autonomy.
