The new country of Marekova (pronounced /ˌmɛərəˈkoʊvə/ or MARE-eh-KOH-vuh) was formed with the future goal of excelling in technological advancements. It's a small country on a European island in the Arctic Circle. The national animal is the Arctic Fox, with its baseball team being the Marakova Foxes.

Economy

Marekova was a scientific research base that turned into a civilization. It has a mixed economy centered around coal, tourism, and scientific research. The government is generous with money going towards education and innovation.

People

It has a non-corrupt government that does not want absolute power. Marekova has become one of the most diverse countries socially and economically, attracting a growing number of people worldwide. Marekovians are not granted full free speech, as anyone with lots of influence can easily spread misinformation if unregulated. Knowledge is a priority, so information spread to many people needs to be backed up by evidence. Religion is allowed, but forcing others to join any religion is illegal. The government is atheistic, so beliefs do not impact their decisions.
