Riask's history begins around the year 3000 BC, when people from Greenland, who are thought to have originated in Mexico, sailed to what we know today as the islands of Riask. The leader of the tribe, called Rèija, became the first King of Riask, founding the Reige dynasty, named after him. The name of the country, Riask, comes from the name of the main island, named Riask as well. The name Riask comes from ancient Riaskese (or old Regulian) Rèijieskh, which means "Land of Rèija". The main difference between old Regulian and modern Riaskese is the presence of indoeuropean elements: while modern Riaskese can be considered an indoeuropean language, old Regulian cannot be connected to any other languages but rare idioms spoken by tribes in America. After being dominated by Denmark, Great Britain and then Germany, the Reige family's power in Riask stood, until 1948, where Denmark, West Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands agreed to joint occupy the islands. The Reige family's power, at this point, was only formal. In 1971, following the Massacre of Bari Square, the Riaskese revolution took place, which ended in 1982, after the 4 countries agreed to withdraw from the island. After that, the monarchy was officially abolished, and the country became a socialist federal republic. The Reige family was exhiled to Siberia, where they were imprisoned in gulags. The Reige family was finally allowed to return to Riask in 2004, after the reconciliation between Jozir VIII, the leader of the family, and the government of Riask. Today there are 5 dialects spoken in Riask, in order from most spoken to least spoken: Riaskese (or Regulian, Indoeuropean), Portesiline (not Indoeuropean), Beurgelian (non Indoeuropean), Matassaic (Indoeuropean) and Zetine (Indoeuropean). |
