In the year 2042, the world dissolved into chaos and war. In Berlin, there were three major factions: the communists, the moderate constitutional royalists/oligarchists, and what remained the old German government. The communists were teamed up on by the two others, and soon defeated. However, then the MCRO and old German government started fighting. Meanwhile, the MCRO was gaining popularity in other regions too, mainly Brandenburg (a city near Berlin), small areas in Northern Germany, areas near Belgium, areas in Eastern France, and even areas in Poland. They continued to grow in power, and by the year 2054 they had an empire stretching from Nice to Kaliningrad. It was then that they formally became a nation, the Kingdom of Prussia. They peaked in the year 2061. After that, it all began to come apart. Many of their regions started rebelling or being captured by enemies. A great weakness of theirs was how disconnected the empire was. The struggle continued until about 2090. By 2080 they retained only Some small French regions, Berlin, Brandenburg, and some areas in between (there were some tiny pockets out East too, but so small that they were relatively insignificant). They realized that they needed to salvage what they had left. So, they replaced the King with the less powerful title of Prince, renamed themselves to the Franco-Prussian Union, and attempted to give more equal representation. To do this, they first split into three regions: Troyes, Brandenburg, and Berlin. Troyes consisted of all French and West German territories, Brandenburg consisted of all territories from Troyes to Berlin, and Berlin consisted of Berlin. They organized a senate comprised of 4 members from each region, and these 12 senators controlled pretty much everything. However, the prince got to choose 3 of the senators (1 from each region), although they had to be approved by the rest of the Senate (the 9 that were elected). The Prince held little power beyond this except to be a tie breaker in the Senate. Over the next few years, more territory was lost, and the only things able to be held were Troyes, Brandenburg, and Berlin themselves, as well as 1 wide road connecting Troyes to Brandenburg and a similar narrow region (though not just 1 singular multilaned road). However, Franco-Prussia is constantly expanding, and currently the regions are: Brandenburg, Troyes, Saarbrucken, Dijon, North Berlin, South Berlin, East Berlin, and West Berlin. The only really developed regions are Berlin (particularly North Berlin) and Dijon, the two corners of the Empire. Everything in-between that is *mostly* poor and underdeveloped, with little commerce and an economy based off of mining. |
