History: Bagleland was founded in the aftermath of The Last War (2031-2039) where the norwegian government became ineffective and the Norway dispersed into city states and independent states from what was left of the previously united country.

As for Bagleland, it was founded in the south of Drammen and to the west of Oslo, both of the cities were mostly in ruins after The Last War, and not too useful.

The powerful danish-decendant bagler families lived through the war, and have lived in Norway since the 1050s. They carry a long legacy as aristocrats in Norway and were involved in state and religious matters up until the 1800s, when they saw it useful to heavily involve themselves in trade and real estate. When The Last War broke out most of the bagler remnants and their staff hid in bunkers and mountain facilities.

After the war, the baglers rose from their hiding and established an aristocracy in place where the norwegian government had previously reigned. The working class suffered under the conditions and were any protests against the new aristocratic reign was supressed by the private military staff under bagler control. Most men previously conscripted in the norwegian military joined forces with the bagler PMCs, strengthtening the

In 2087, on the 21th of March, a bagler child named Brage was born into one of the governing families. During his upbringing, he saw the weakness of the current reign, with its nobles attempting to sabotage eachother for own gain. The region was divided, the rulers did not work together and the people suffered the consequenses. Famines, child-mortality and brawls between the different rulers own soldiers were comming. Brage dreamt of uniting Bagleland growing up, and that he would.

He grew to become a charismatic man, often speaking to workers and soldiers to hear their opinion and wishes. He read and trained for combat, as the bagler traditions required him to do. He got along with the rest of the nobles, but some viewed him with suspicion because of his unorthodox approach towards the people.

in 2105, a civil war broke out between different bagler factions over the question of isolation and total self sufficiency, or opening up for economic cooperation with the rest of Europe. The isolationists claiming it would get Bagleland involved in large scale conflicts and get them involved in bad deals. There were of course other reasons, but the disagreement around this question started the fire. Brage and his family was on the side of cooperation, with Brage having convinced a large part of both trained and untrained men to fight for them, through promises of bettering conditions and his reforms within the mining industry, which had reduced miner mortality by 39 per cent and several other changes and reforms.

The civil war was bloody and reduced the little infrastructure to nearly nothing, Brage lost both of his parents and thousands were dead, which might not seem catastrophic, but the region only had about twelve thousand people in it in the first place. Brage and his men had forced the other nobles to defeat, he rose to power and established himself as king. In the aftermath of the civil war, he established a goverment consisting of nobles, military leaders and civilians in different fields. This reign immediately organized a rebuilding of Bjergen and Frillestad. 5 years later, most of the damage has been undone, the economy is stabilizing and the region is united.
