Settled by the first Lifthiudan tribes at the twilight of the Roman Empire, the land that would become Lifthiuda was a crossroads of empires, kingdoms, and shifting borders for centuries. Over time, its people endured foreign domination and cultural suppression, their identity persisting through oral traditions and an unyielding connection to their heritage. Independence was finally achieved in 2057, but the fledgling nation soon spiraled into chaos under the weight of its own radical ambitions. The newly independent Lifthiuda experimented with an extreme form of ultraliberalism, a government that sought to banish religion and emotion from public life, pursuing the dream of a perfectly rational society. What began as a utopian vision quickly descended into dystopia. The state’s relentless drive for efficiency dehumanized its citizens, creating a society devoid of spirituality, tradition, or meaning. This era of cold rationalism came to a head with the Lifthiudan Revolution, known among the people as "The Great Sanitation." The revolution was initially a clash of ideologies, with various leftist factions competing for dominance. However, as these groups began to fracture and cannibalize one another, a new figure emerged from the shadows: Aistulf Lervensen, a young nationalist poet with a vision of salvation for the disillusioned nation. Charismatic and uncompromising, Lervensen rallied a group of fervent partisans, stormed the State Hall, and executed the entire Livet government in a dramatic coup that marked the end of the first socialist government. Once in power, Lervensen declared the beginning of what he called the "Spiritual Revolution." He envisioned not just a political transformation but a complete reimagining of Lifthiudan society, rooted in his own eclectic fusion of nationalist pride, religious mysticism, and socialism. Under his leadership, the state abandoned its experiment with secularism and rationality, replacing it with a state-sponsored religion that blended pantheism, ethnic nationalism, and reverence for the leader himself. This faith was designed to fill the spiritual void left by the sterile atheism of the previous regime, uniting the people under a shared sense of divine purpose. Lervensen’s reforms extended far beyond religion. Society was reshaped to reflect his ideals, with extreme revolutionary rhetoric, a command economy, and a pervasive cult of personality. He viewed the state as a canvas for his ideological masterpiece, a "work of political art" that would endure as a testament to the Lifthiudan people’s unique destiny.
