The True North Republic – A History of Resilience and Unity

Nestled at the edge of the known world, The True North Republic is a land born of icy winds, towering evergreens, and the unwavering determination of its people. Founded under the guiding light of the Northern Star, it stands as a beacon of hope, unity, and strength in the face of adversity.

Long ago, before the Republic's birth, scattered tribes and settlers roamed the rugged wilderness, surviving through sheer grit and ingenuity. The North was harsh, its winters merciless and its landscapes untamed. Yet within this frozen frontier, there was opportunity—vast resources, fertile valleys hidden beneath snow, and rivers that promised passage and prosperity.

For decades, these scattered peoples worked alone—traders, loggers, fishermen, and craftsmen—but with progress came a unifying need. The resourceful Clan of Borealis emerged as the first to call for unity, inviting leaders from every corner to gather under the Great Pine Charter, a pact symbolized by a sacred evergreen tree—still revered as the "First Pine." It was signed beneath the shimmering curtain of the Aurora Borealis, marking the first day of the True North Republic.

The Republic drew its strength from the diversity and determination of its people:

The Pineborn, master woodsmen and crafters, guardians of the North's vast forests.

The Frostwardens, hardy frontiersmen who braved frozen rivers and harsh plains.

The Skyseekers, cartographers and explorers guided by the Northern Star.

United under their first High Marshall, Elara Vyrn, they raised the now-iconic banner—a crimson field of unity, intersected by pale lines of resilience and crowned by a central compass rose to forever point toward prosperity and strength. From that day forth, the motto of the Republic echoed across the valleys:
"By the Star, We Prevail."
