Post-Revolution and Early Statehood (2024-2050)

Following its violent separation from France in 2024, the Soviet State of Calgatta immediately embraced a Marxist-Leninist model, founding a state driven by centralized economic planning and worker councils. Early years were marred by economic hardship, political consolidation, and near-complete isolation from global markets. Under the leadership of General Secretary Machere, the revolutionary government nationalized all industries, introduced a command economy, and initiated widespread social programs aimed at building a self-sufficient socialist state.

By the 2030s, Calgatta had made significant strides in industrial reconstruction. Utilizing new energy technologies—solar, geothermal, and wind power—Calgatta was able to mitigate the worst impacts of energy shortages that gripped much of Europe after the economic collapse of the late 2020s. While the French government and the European Union imposed sanctions, Calgatta sought alliances with emerging socialist movements in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Through these connections, Calgatta established a modest but crucial trade network that provided much-needed goods and resources.
