History: Montarios has been part of the Spanish crown for decades. It was until the Revolution of 1685 that Montarios was seen as a free state with a small militia force. However it was in 1881 that it was conquered by the Kingdom of Italy. Under their Italian rulers, Montarios saw an increase in trade with other Mediterranean cities. Montarios began their industrialization around the same time Italy did. Instead of inventing, they instead got their industrial infrastructure imported from the Kingdom of Italy.
Everything was calm until 1922, when Il Duce himself was appointed to the position of prime minister. Wanting to have better control over Italian colonies, he sent Montarian born Antonio Guiseppe, a mid ranking member of the Italian fascist party to govern Montarios. When the Allies advanced into Italian territory, a small detachment of US ships liberated Montarios and their independence was granted in 1945.

When it came time for elections, the people elected a small known Italian military general to lead their nation. General Angelo Cerica became the first leader of Montarios. Giving the title of ‘General’ after his military rank and service to the Italian Empire.
