History: | KINGDOM OF DIMITAR (295-1345) St. Dimitar, the patron saint of snow, was travelling through Italy when he discovered a beautiful mountain, where he lived for about a year, trying to find a way to make extra fresh crops using the snowy environment. Once he had, it attracted many people to settle in the nearby valley, eventually establishing a city called Dimitar there. St. Dimitar would eventually leave, but the people would hail him as the king of Dimitar, enthroned even while away. In his stead, a regent named Nicola Fermagucci ruled the city. The city, mainly composed of Christian refugees, established the Church of Dimitar, which to this day serves as the primary Christian denomination and official state religion of the country. Around this time, St. Dimitar fell ill and died, though news of this would not reach Dimitar until a year after, and by that point they had appointed a Germanic refugee named Willahalm of Francia, known in Dimitar as Guglielmo della Francia, to be the new Regent. When the news finally arrived that their King had died, the people mourned greatly. When the mourning period was over, Regent Willahalm was crowned King Guglielmo I in 305. The small Kingdom existed in relative peace after that, especially after the legalization of Christianity and later the fall of the Roman Empire, but in 1345, the kingdom was annexed into the Holy Roman Empire. BARONY OF DIMITAR (1345-1472) From 1345 to 1471, Dimitar was a barony of the Holy Roman Empire originally called the "Barony of Dimitar". During this time, a distinct ethnic group in Dimitar and the nearby Barony of St. Nicholas and St. Victor began to emerge, called the Dimitarese. In 1425, the Baron of Dimitar, Ferdinand III, married the daughter of the Baron of St. Nicholas and St. Victor, Maria della San Vittorio, and when both barons died on the same year in 1447, Ferdinand III's son, Ferdinand-Emmanuel I, ascended to both thrones, passing both baronies down to his son and him to his son, until they were officially united together as the Duchy of the Dimitarese in 1472. DUCHY OF THE DIMITARESE (1472-1525) The two Dimitarese baronies were united as the Duchy of the Dimitarese under Ferdinand-Emmanuel III. In 1522, it was renamed the Duchy of San Dimitar by Francesco the Great at the beginning of his reign. Three years later, he would declare independence from the Holy Roman Empire due to the Church of Dimitar being suppressed by the Catholic Church. The Holy Roman Empire soon invaded to retake the duchy, but Friedrich the Great successfully led a defense of San Dimitar, creating the Most Excellent Order of St. Dimitar, the highest award of San Dimitar to this day, to reward the country's brave defenders in what would be known as the Holy War of San Dimitarese Secession or the First War of Dimitarese Independence. FIRST SOVEREIGN PRINCIPALITY OF SAN DIMITAR (1525-1916) After becoming independent, the Duchy of San Dimitar became the Sovereign Principality of San Dimitar. Friedrich the Great died in 1530, leaving the throne to his son, Wilhelm Friedrich della Francia, who become Sovereign Prince Guglielmo II, who created the High Councils-Deputy, creating a system of semi-constitutional monarchy, one of the first in Europe. The Sovereign Principality would remain peaceful and neutral for many years. However, in 1915, Italian king Victor Emmanuel II threatened to invade San Dimitar if it didn't align itself with the Central Powers. So, San Dimitar did, leading to it being invaded by France in 1916. San Dimitar would remain under French rule until being invaded by Fascist Italy in 1940, and then two years later, would be annexed by the Third Reich. REICHSGAU WESTLICHE UNTERALPEN (1942-1944) In the Treaty of Monte San Nicola, control of San Dimitar was transferred from Italy to the Third Reich as the Reichsgau Westliche Unteralpen (roughly translates to "Reich Sub-Region Western Lower Alps"). It only had one Gauleiter, SS Lieutenant-General Heinrich von Sankt Viktor, a Swiss German native of San Dimitar who chaired the Social Anti-Semitic National Party of San Dimitar before it was outlawed in 1913 and he fled to Germany, joining the Imperial German Army in WWI and later joining the Nazi Party, SA, and the SA's successor, the SS. However, the people of San Dimitar resisted, and with assistance from the U.S. Army, was liberated from Germany in 1944. SECOND SOVEREIGN PRINCIPALITY OF SAN DIMITAR (1944-Present) After the war, the Sovereign Principality, minus St. Victor, which was given to France as its population was majority French, was given independence once more under Sovereign Prince Guglielmo III. This is the list of monarchs since liberation from Germany: 1. 1944-1982 Guglielmo III (Full Name: Wilhelm Friedrich Leopold Ferdinand-Emmanuel della Francia) 2. 1982-2007 Friedrich XII (Full Name: Friedrich Leopold Nicholas della Francia) 3. 2007-2032 Friedrich XIII (Full Name: Friedrich Wilhelm della Francia) 4. 2032-2040 Frederick-William (Full Name: Friedrich-Wilhelm Charles della Francia) 5. 2040-2080 Carlo II (Full Name: Charles Leopold Wilhelm della Francia) 6. 2080-2105 Guglielmo IV (Full Name: Wilhelm Ernst Ferdinand-Emmanuel della Francia) |

Description: | The Sovereign Principality's economy is primarily based on exports, selling its fresh food, farmed through a process invented by St. Dimitar that allows food to be made extremely fresh, moist, and flavorful using snowy soil prepared in a certain way, but the specifics of the process are a secret well-kept by the Dimitarese people, and one Dimitarese farming company was sued by the Justice Council for attempting to sell the secrets to the international market. The people are usually very happy, and live in one of the highest standards of living in Europe, and most people don't go on vacation very often because of how content they are with their small country.
