History

During World War 2, Kastovia was occupied by German forces which built a system of underground bunkers to stockpile ammunitions and weapons beneath its capital, Verdansk. As the German Army retreated, the bunkers were sealed and forgotten.

In 1984, Verdansk served as a hub of operations for the Soviet-based spy ring.The republic declared independence after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 and Verdansk was then rebuilt by the West and Russia.

On March 3rd, 2020, the terrorist organization Al-Qatala, under the leadership of Khaled Al-Asad, and heavily supplied by Victor Zakhaev, invaded Kastovia and launched a full-scale assault against Verdansk, occupying the city and its surroundings. A new alliance, Armistice, was formed to stop Al-Qatala.

           Geography

Formerly part of the Soviet Union, Kastovia is a landlocked country located in the Caucuses Region, bordered by the Russian Federation to the North, Georgia to the West, and Azerbaijan to the Southeast. The climate is temperate, with the Caucuses Mountains resting on the Northern border and the Karst River flowing through much of the country. The capital city is Verdansk, which is situated on the Mingechevir Reservoir, the largest reservoir in the Caucasus.
