In the heartland of North America, new unusual settlers mysteriously arrived in the middle of fertile farmlands. A long, long away from home, and in new bodies that they did not yet understand, they sought to recreate what they felt was fundamentally missing. Aspects of their culture, and life, that seemed to be what felt like a whole universe away.
And so, they recreated what they felt most at home, one step at a time. Citizens bickered, toiling the ideas between Democracy, Republic, a Technocracy, and everywhere inbetween. A while later after the instability, two brothers step forth claiming to be nobles from their lost homeland. While some argued and detested the idea of having yet another Monarchy, the Conservatives were overwhelmed with nostalgia and appeased to the moderates and liberals with an ultimatum: Since the two brothers were already big on socially liberal policies and wanted to see best in terms of the welfare of the people-- as long as they lived would they listen to a congress of the citizens to hear upon their issues and decide what would be the best for New Equus. The transfer and solidification of power would then pass without bloodshed.
Being a new nation, New Equus was surrounded by both friends and foes on all sides. In order to consolidate their nations' safety and security, they decided to become a member of Camelot. For exchange in all of their exports being used for the alliance, the alliance would be sure to utterly decimate any who would try to use Equus for easy pickings.

The Rise of the Tyrants (The Dark Era) ----- 2085 - 2087

While peace was kept for a few years, eventually natural disasters and bloodshed would emerge during the nations' once peaceful yet short kempt rule. Other outsiders of this newely arrived nation did not take kindly to their "hoarding of natural resources and beauty" as they put it. Eventually, this resulted in a shortly ruled yet deeply protective and deadly tyrants who proceeded to mercilessly kill anybody that tried to threaten their people. They even usurped the two nobles, claiming they had become despondent and degenerated, abandoning their true purpose-- to go back to their native calling.
This is much like the Common Era, but with more bloodshed and infighting. It soon resulted in each tyrant getting usurped shortly after ruling followed by several civil wars between the different cities and factions of the nation. Ironically, this was also the period in which many offensive wars were fought, at least when the people united against a common cause.

The Rise of the Holy One (The Common Era) ----- 2088 - Onward

With all of this bloodshed, the former ponies-turned-humans still wanted to be closer than ever to their ideal ways of Equestrian life. One warlord, whom simply referred to himself as The Chosen One, instead not to seek bloodshed with their brethren and instead sought to unite them in a way to which they would be allowed to rule over their separate sections of New Equus, so long as they worshipped himself as their God of New Equus (and even, perhaps, one day the god of Earth) to bring forth their way back to their true Goddesses, Celestia and Luna as they hoped so many moons ago when they first arrived.
Gaining ever more in popularity, not only did he seek to publicly endorse the Cults of the Celestianists, the Lunar Worshippers, and the Cult of the Arcane, but he sought and pleaded with them to cooperate more than ever before to find not only a way back home, but perhaps to create a new colony for all of ponykind, and to undue the transformation spell put upon them.
Instead of teaching English much like before to adapt to the outside world, the Emperor instead to try and stress the usage of the olden tongue-- Old Ponish-- in order to bring themselves with what he believed would be closer to the old Equestrian way, in case they were to ever look for them again. English became a secondary language, and had even begun to be taught less and less in favor of Old Ponish.
Under this new Era, New Equus would expand much quicker and much faster than it ever has been. Citizens everywhere rejoice at his abilities to bring the nation to greater and greater heights not yet thought possible for such a simple and new nation in the heartland of America.

When the settlers of what would be called New Equus arrived in the region, tourists would describe a bizarre but overwhelming sense of happiness and also mystery fill the air. This nation has a heavily religious-based social democracy where businesses are allowed to thrive but not at the expense of the customer nor its employees. It has to abide by both the government and its religious moral doctrines. It is entirely in favor of small businesses and small business growth. Monopolies are broken up for the sake of free competition.
The workers are taxed but fair, as a majority of it goes towards repairing all of the infrastructure, roads, public cities, as well as use for things like libraries and sometimes even research facilities. Only 10% of the national budget goes towards military defense unless in times of war.
