History: After 150 years, the First Empire, ruled by Regent Paul Markinson, was at its knees. The resistance of future Princess Therana Athulis had won the civil war. Therana ascended to the throne and was henceforth known as Empress Therana. The former regent was thrown in jail for the rest of his life and Therana reorganized the First Empire into the Second Empire, which still exists in this form today
