History: | Much of the historical records before the formation of Grelandia were destroyed by the retreating forces of its past occupants, but scribes managed to recover a few tidbits from the ashes and corrupted data, and made a somewhat comprehensive summary for everyone to read. The lands were owned by a conglomerate whose business model revolved around manufacture and utilization of Energon Cubes, a material used for spaceflight and other technology. They engaged in a successful aggressive expansion against the natives in the name of profit. Thanks to their efforts, they prospered and became one of the top organizations in terms of power and revenue. However, a group going against their ideals united the dissidents displaced by their actions and waged a bloody conflict against them. The organization initially managed to repel the insurgency and crush the parties involved. However, with each down another took its place. They were eventually forced to abandon shop and leave after armed opposition made them operate on a loss too frequently. After the eviction of the corporation, society descended into anarchy until a private military company united most of infighting groups and formed the basis of Grelandia through a brutal campaign of pen and sword. |

Military | |
History: | At the beginning stages of Grelandia, its military were mainly composed of operators from the private military company and its allies, as well as Native regiments and volunteers from other countries. Due to distrust between groups of interest, each soldier is responsible for his own equipment, ammunition and weapons. The leaders of each faction were also in charge for procurement and maintenance of their own armored vehicles. During the Liberation of Mesa, however, this method of organization proved to be a detriment as units struggled with insubordination, infighting and logistical issues. Some went rouge and joined the enemy while others charged into the fray, only to be encircled and killed off. They were eventually able to liberate the city in exchange of many lives. To mitigate the issue, the government began Project Milta, an infamous series of reformations that saw the (often violent) replacement of faction officers with ones loyal to them, as well as standardization of equipment, logistics and tactics. It turned the military from a collection of semi-dependent forces united under a vague common goal to a professional standing army in months. |
