Rason, officially the Democratic Socialist Dictatorship of Rason (DSDR) is a country in western Zaheria constituting most of the natural barrier between the continents Zaheria and Tind. The country is bordered to the west with by Clantia, to the east with biological hazardous wilderness, to the south the South Rason Sea, and to the North several other smaller countries. Kaesong is the country's capital and largest city.

In 2017, immigrants and nomadic tribes settled to form the nation of Baskol. However, just a year later, the nation collapsed due to a genetically engineered pandemic. On February 22nd, 2021, survivors, lead by Justin Cheng, managed to found another country, this time named Rason.

According to article 4 of the Rasonian constitution, the DPRR is an independent socialist state, although a different, new term would better describe it. Rason holds elections every 2 years to elect a dictator to lead the country, although a single politician has no limit on terms they can run for. Rason is a democratic dictatorship, which means that although the country is lead by one person with absolute power over everything, that leader must be democratically elected.

Rason is unique in the way that it has no currency used inside its country; money is only used for foreign affairs. Instead, workers toil at their jobs without pay, but no there is no cost to anything inside the country, either. Healthcare, groceries, housing, transportation, everything is free. To prevent individuals from taking advantage of this system, citizens are closely inspected for signs of excessive greed, and may be deported or drafted if deemed a menace to the system. For others, common sense, respect and peer pressure is enough to limit their receiving. Studies also show that children who have grown up under this system may be unsusceptible to excessive taking at all.
