History:	In 2039, the Great Atlantic War broke out. After nearly 13 years of fighting, much of the North American and European continents were divided into factions. NATO divided their forces into two - one would reform the North American continent, and the other would reform the European continent. West Esung was established in the former state of New York, North Esung in Quebec Providence, East Esung in France, and South Esung in the state of Louisiana. South Esung fell into a state of anarchy only 2 years after its founding. West Esung and North Esung signed the Esunian Union Treaty in 2078 which combined the two countries into one. The name "West Esung" was kept despite the union. By then, West Esung had added the territory of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania to the Republic; North Esung added the Ontario region in 2077. Since 2078, West Esung has seen rapid progress and advancements in social, economic, and political means. By the turn of the century, relations with the arctic factions and the Latin Confederacy were stable. The capital city of New Opportuna, located where New York City once stood, doubled its economic output and population. 9 new territories and 3 providences were added to the Republic.

History:	The West Esunian military was created in 2052 along with the nation's founding and is comprised of a mixture of Esunian volunteers and former/current NATO forces. The West Esunian Constitution establishes 3 branches that operate under the President of the Executive Branch: the Federal Infantry Forces (FIF), the Federal Aerospace Forces (FAF), and the Federal Maritime Forces (FMF). These branches are divided based on specialty, focus, or equipment used and will often loan or work together with each other. The FIF controls 48 Infantry Regiments that specialize in ground-based operations and 3 Combative Units. The FIF is led by Major General Jacob Haviiv. The FAF branch deals with air combat, missile launch/coordination, and military efforts in space. The FAF is commanded by Major General David Harris. The FMF conducts all water or coastal-based operations and controls the naval forces. The FMF is led by Major General Martha Yang.
