The island on which the Imperial Federation of Ferra resides remained almost entirely untouched by humanity for several millennia, save for a small tribe of locals. However, in 1755, a group of Prussian explorers, led by the Great Founder Frederick Irons, settled the island, discovering it to hold an unimaginable wealth of resources, in spite of its tiny size. Emboldened by their discovery, the settlers founded the Imperial Federation, with Frederick as Grand Duke.
Unfortunately, the majority of Ferra’s history was one of poverty and stagnation. By the 1960’s, the country was still stuck in a state of arrested development. Little had been achieved, aside from the construction of the tiny capital, Viribus. However, it was then that Walter Irons, a descendant of Frederick Irons, ascended to the throne. Very much frustrated with the dilapidated state of his nation, Walter set about transforming it. Basing his reforms on the example of Prussia, he rapidly industrialised the country, and implemented radical modernisation of the entirety of Ferra. The country was transformed. The economy, population, and most significantly, the military, boomed.
As the nation entered the 21st century, Walter’s Prussian ambition began to show. Several wars were fought to ensure Ferra’s power and dominance. It’s admission to the Unforgiven Legion allowed for the cementing of Ferra’s place in the world. The advent of “The Great Rebuildâ€, the nation’s industrial centres were restructured, with the economy and population doubling in size, increasing Ferra’s power even further. Later on, Ferra suffered massive damage and humiliation during the great global struggle against the forces of Opus Dei. However, reconstruction quickly made up for this damage.
Due to its immense power, the Imperial Federation of Ferra has largely withdrawn from its old warmongering traditions, instead opting for a more diplomatic approach to interacting with other nations. The promotion of Walter Irons to a major position in the government of the Unforgiven Legion has only encouraged this new path. Now in his 60’s, Grand Duke Walter Irons prepares to lead his nation into an era of greater prosperity, and greater power. |

This nation has a social economy, with an enormous private sector, but also a significant public economy as well. The government economic policy is one of limited interventionism and mercantilist economic nationalism. The country is heavily export-oriented and much of its prosperity is based on its heavy industry and manufacturing. The largest exports from the country are bauxite and oil. The country also receives much money and resources from the loot is seizes from nations it attacks, though this practice has largely disappeared. This is added to by the significant exports made by the government. However, heavy spending, particularly on the military, offsets this. |

| Industries: |
The largest industries in the Imperial Federation of Ferra are, by a long stretch, the oil and bauxite industries. Due to heavy exports, the government provides significant subsidies to these particular industries. However, primarily to feed its exploding population, Ferra also has a quickly-growing agricultural industry, mostly focusing on basic foods such as potatoes and wheat for export, with other crops generally reserved for the local population. The military industry is the third-largest industry in the country, fuelled by the extreme militarism of the Ferran state. |

| History: |
The armed forces of Ferra existed since the country’s foundation in 1755. However, due to the country’s stagnation, the entire army, until the rapid transformation in the 1960’s, consisted of a few hundred volunteers, and less than a dozen tiny warships. However, with the implementation of Prussian militarism, along with rapid industrialisation, caused the armed forces to swell. Conscription was introduced, and the army swelled from the hundreds to the hundreds of thousands. An Air Force was established in 1976, and a spy agency six years later. Extreme militarism has been instrumental in fuelling this, with strong militarist values taught amongst the population. The military was frequently used in the early years following the modernisation of the country. However, following the immense damage caused by Opus Dei, and the massive military serving as a deterrent to potential attackers, the armed forces have remained largely idle since the last global conflict. |
