Breaking - Liberal PM highlights next steps

Here is what the PM has said in his speech:

"Thank you all. Thank you. Well, time to get down to business you think?

When I started my journey as an MP 156 days ago, I didn’t imagine we would be in a place to reach this position. Therefore, I need to thank the people of this country for putting their trust in a Liberal government for the first time.

I can promise you that we will repay that trust over the next year. We will ensure that we build on the successes of the last government, and work on their challenges. I will work on forming a new cabinet today - a cabinet that will be more extensive than ever before. With this team behind me, we will immediately get down to work on ensuring that our nation develops in the correct way - with the public in mind.

My Chancellor will bring a new budget to Parliament on Monday - and this Budget will highlight the main spending plans for the next 3 month period. This Budget will be a direct message from the government to you, the people, on how we will work to make your lives better.

I will also today hold a meeting with the Foreign Office and Home Office staff, where I will decide on policy changes, both internationally and domestically. My aim is to immediately make the strong decisions that will benefit the people. I will also today meet with the Treasury to discuss the best option to strengthen the Pound to ensure economic growth.

Even though we are immediately starting work, I can assure the public that this government will not announce any new conflicts or raids until we have worked on domestic issues. Therefore, no foreign matters will be affected until at least next week.

Can I thank everyone once again for putting your trust in this government. We will work over the next few days, weeks and months to show you that we can make a difference to how this nation is run.

Thank you."

We are yet to hear any decisions regarding cabinet appointments.
