The New Ghaza Minister of Sport, Mostafa Zayed, has just formally announced the creation of the New Ghaza Pro League (NGPL). This is an exciting addition to the nation's ever-growing sports scene and promises thrilling matches and top-tier talent for fans locally and abroad. It was nearly a year ago when Zayed announced the Kingdom's heavy investment to the sport of baseball by the promotion of the New Ghaza Sunbirds into the majors and a full upgrade of Handala Field. The nation has seen an incredible influx of interest in the sport from international players and from the local scene and hopes to have the same success with the newly created football (soccer) league.

"I mentioned a long time ago that the Kingdom was all-in with sports and here we are again. After the success we've seen with our baseball team and infrastructure, it was a matter of time before we brought in competition in the most popular sport in the world and here we are. Our short-term goals includes fostering a competitive league with youth development programs while our long-term goals, albeit ambitious, hopes to expand and gain popularity worldwide."

The inaugural season will feature six teams: Ghaza United, Ghaza City, Handala, Palestina FC, Al Keffiyeh, and Al Hajar. Each team brings its unique flair and competitive spirit to the pitch, promising intense rivalries and captivating gameplay. The regular season will comprise of each team playing one another twice and the top 4 in the standings will continue on to the playoffs in a 1 vs. 4, 2 vs. 3 format until a champion is determined.
