Last Friday a series of leaked chat logs showed certain elements of Swamp leadership pontificating about their choice of target for an upcoming war of aggression. The majority of the leaks showing Oasis as the intended target as well as showing internal differences reaching a boiling point. The Ampersand, followed by the majority of the Swamp bloc, announced their withdrawal from the sphere upon these revelations. Despite these quick condemnations, both publicly and privately, the leaks also prompted a harsh response from Syndisphere members who had been mentioned in a handful of the leaks as a potential target as well.

This culminated in last night's punitive strike against the former Swamp bloc members, pulling in almost 400 nations on each side of this brutal conflict. While the Swamp burns and the Syndisphere crying havoc and letting loose the hogs of war, the Revenge drifts along the coastline awaiting any unfortunate fleeing merchant vessels and pondering on what comes next.

Recently we've seen the world order, as it was, crumble. Swamp ironically initiated this push months ago, seeing two major members of the bloc split off and form their own bloc - Oasis. Camelot, a longstanding member of the namesake RoseCam sphere, recently split off from their former allies. A series of smaller alliances simultaneously split off into their own corner. Now Quack has announced that its dissolution will be following this current war with the Swamp.

One can only speculate as to what the future holds. For the first time in Orbis history, we're seeing a multi-polar world truly starting to mature. Several groups, each vying for dominance, but each individualistic and unable to truly dominate on its own. At the risk of sounding overly optimistic, now is an exciting time for politics and this writer believes that in the Ashes of the Old World, a new world might find its footing and have a renewed golden era of political engagement.
