Invasion of Vratvia
At around 19:30 GMT Dec 17th 2023 the CDU began a ground invasion of Vratvia consisting of 50,000 soldiers. The High Council unilaterally voted in accordance with a directive issued by the HhCllr's office.
The directive read:
HhCllr Kaiyan Spratley orders the CDU to mobilise 50,000 of its personnel and prepare them for foreign deployment. Once on the ground in Vratvia they are directed, in accordance with international law, to enact a state of martial law and seize control from the national government. From here they will begin to dismantle the unpopular and authoritarian state institutions and disband the Vratvia secret service with immediate effect. This should be completed over a time span of no more than three weeks. Further information will be provided in time.
This invasion is in response to the recent discovery that the Vratvia secret service has been attempting to undermine the High Councils and the HhCllr's authority by spreading Communist propaganda amongst the population, specifically targeting impressionable children and teenagers from the ages of 11-19. While their efforts have not yet caused any unrest amongst this demographic since these ideas are combated by the Office for Education and Communities (OEC), information provided by the British Government about foreign interference before the NCSB's creation shows that it is possible and can cause significant societal unrest.
Despite the NCSB's focus on the right to self determination, Communism and its offshoot ideologies are deemed dangerous and damaging to the public mind as a whole and therefore is combated heavily in all national institutions.
