Military Seizes Power in the Dutch Republic:

Nationwide | 09-03-2095.

After receiving word of yet another attack on a close ally of the Republic, the Military has decided to end the governmental chaos that erupted after President Stegehuis resigned his position. In the early morning of March 9th, soldiers stormed the parliamentary building and Paleis Zeezicht. They seized control of the building and arrested the former President and his cabinet, who were still working there until a new government would be formed. Important officials from leftwing parties were also arrested. It is currently unknown what they are being charged with.

At 12:00pm exactly, a nationwide broadcast was launched, in which several military officials (the most important of which being supreme commander Koen Winkelman) declared martial law, and claiming that Dutch military assets were being prepared for a mission to assist in the protection of Luna. Currently, military ships have been deployed to guard the supply routes between the mainland and the overseas holdings.

Understandably, the people were angry that their democracy and civil liberties stripped away from them so suddenly. To them, the leader of the Junta says that this is not permanent, and they already have plans on reinstating the democracy of the republic, albeit in a way that ensures there's always someone to govern the country at any given moment.

Lars van Oranje Nassau Shot Dead:

Apeldoorn | 10-03-2095.

Lars van Den Berg, claimant to the Dutch throne under the pretext of being the only living heir to the house of Oranje-Nassau has been shot dead in his home in Apeldoorn in the early morning of March 10th, 2095. According to Lars' parents, 2 armed men broke into the house, which is on the property of what used to be Paleis het Loo, and handily killed Lars' guards before breaking into his room. Lars was playing video games there, when he was brutally knocked into the head with the butt of the gun of one of the assailants, which knocked one of his teeth out. They then shot the young boy in cold blood, before being met by the father of the child who shot both assailants down with his shotgun, killing the attackers.

Lars was only 16 years old. Many people have travelled to Apeldoorn to express their condolances to the family, including head of the junta Koen Winkelman, although some people suspect he's in fact responsible for the death of this bright young man. May he rest in peace.
