Operation Volksbevrijding | Fight Against Hainan.

Seeing the horrible war in China break out, the Dutch government was decided it needed to take action. After looking at the sides in the war, the Dutch decided to join their allies. Operation Volksbevrijding (people's liberation) was put into action and in the early morning of February 17th, a small Dutch expeditionary force landed in Shanghai.

The planes shot into the sky from the carrier strike group in the region, bombing key defensive area's in the city, as the Dutch expeditionary force landed. A battle almost broke out immediately, catching the landing forces by suprise. The landing force tried to push into the city, but was almost annihalated. The goal was then changed to capture the ports and supress enemy fire long enough for reinforcements to land, this objective was succesful. 

As we speak, Dutch forces have pushed deep into Hainan land and dug in, waiting for more reinforcements to land. Artillery systems have been set up, firing at the enemy forces whenever they try to push against the Dutch. Anti aircraft systems have also been set up to protect new key points in the city, like the airfields that have been put into use by our airforce and humanitarian materials like food, drinks, medical equipment, tents and other supplies neccesary for survival are being shipped into the city, to be distributed among the population.

Dutch military police has relieved the local police force of it's duty, and makeshift Dutch military courts have been put into use. These courts will follow a combination of Dutch and local laws and will serve to keep the day to day life going as smoothly as possible. Dutch MP does not have permission to execute any civilians, and thus will not do so.

"Hello,

As you might have heard, Dutch forces have landed in and taken control of Shanghai. This is exactly the opposite of what I promised, but I find it so morally we can't leave the Chinese under the horrible regime of Hainan. Our demands are plain and simple, and we are always willing to negotiate, alongside our allies. I will not discuss them here publicly, but they will be revealed soon enough. 

Foreign soldiers are not allowed in the Dutch held territory in China, as they pose a threat to the justice system currently established by our forces there. Humanitarian aid is to be checked by Dutch forces before being distributed inside the city. The only foreign armies allowed in Shanghai, are those of our allies but no one else.

Our goal is not to conquer and subjugate large parts of China. We will just get what we want and get out after making sure the Chinese people that cooperate with our forces will not be retaliated against. To hear our demands and begin negotiations, Hainan can reach out to our diplomatic office. We sure hope he decides to do this.
