GBN- Following his high profile arrest almost two weeks previously, Igor Yetslev appeared before court for a public reading of his charges against the state, and the beginning of his trial. Yetslev was read his charges upon his arrest, but these were only now made public since the indictment was sealed due to its requirement of the Grand Jury of National Justice. Yetslev was brought into the court room by the governor of The Sütheim, and reread his affirmed rights under the constitution of Gavastek.
The third circuit criminal courts judge Honourable Gustav Karlsson read the charges against the NFP party leader as such translated:
“Igor Vladimir Yetslev; you are charged by this court under the indictment of the Grand Jury of National Justice. The following charges are: one count of criminal conspiracy to rebel against the government of Gavastek; four counts of illegal possession of firearms; one count of treason against Gavastek.
Mr. Yetslev, you and your alleged co-conspirators are to stand trial upon the mercy of The Grand Jury of National Justice, for your alleged committal of treason against our country. And may the record show that this court, verifying Mr. Yetslev’s sane state, made aware and gave notice to the accused that the penalty of conviction of treason is the surrendering of life under death.”
Following the public reading of the charges, the defence petitioned the court for recess until the following day, which was granted until 13:30 Gavastek National Standard Time.
