As part of the Oceanic Domain of ANZAC's policy of "Peace through Strength" tests were conducted to maintain the credibility of conventional missile forces whilst drills were performed of the strategic nuclear forces.
The Department of Defence stated these tests were necessary to maintain the readiness of conventional and nuclear forces. Having experienced the horror of nuclear attack we are determined to posture our forces to prevent such an attack again.
As well as testing the readiness of the conventional and nuclear missiles. Drills were performed at the nations Iron Dome and Vital Defence System as part of tests of the defensive component of the strategic forces.
