ID

AA

Alliance Affiliation (shorthand for alliance)

I’ve been in a lot of AAs since I started playing.

C[Number]

Shorthand to describe how many cities a nation has

DC / Update

Day Change:

   - Allows you to buy troops again
   - Acts like a turn change

Only 3 hours left till day change and I can buy more soldiers.

Turn Change

A change of every 2 hours turn resulting in:
   - Rev
   - Tax
   - +1 map

Once turn change happens, I will have enough to repay my loan

Tier

Denoted by city count and it’s respective impact

Our alliance has a really strong high tier lot of C30s.

PPU

Shorthand for price per unit.

I’ll sell you 2K aluminium at 3000 PPU

NS

Shorthand for nation score. 

They aren’t in my war range, my ns is too high.

Color Bloc

A color that nation can set itself to

I wasn’t able to log on for a week so I need to switch my color bloc off of gray.

Color Bloc Bonus

Monetary bonus given per turn

Once our alliance gets higher in city count, hopefully our color bloc bonus will increase.

Vacation Mode (VM)

The nation cannot perform any in game actions until it expires.

Finals week is coming up so I think I won’t be able to log on for the next weeks and need to VM.

VIP Status

Gives slight roleplay and in-game perks in return for credits.

I really miss having a leader portrait and a nation anthem so I am going to buy a credit and buy VIP status again.

Reroll

Someone who deleted their nation and made a new one

I rerolled because I haven’t played for a couple of months and wanted to start fresh.

Raiding

Attacking other nations for the purpose of financial gain through loot. Can refer to a single instance (a raid), or an entire playstyle.

As a small nation, you should focus on raiding as your main source of income

Raider/Pirate

A player/nation focussed on raiding, who earns their income through raiding instead of conventional means.

That guy hitting our inactives is a raider, he doesn’t have any infra to lose.

Wardodger

A player who tries to avoid alliance wars, for various reasons (e.g. expense or effort required) and by various means (e.g. desertion, VMing). Wardodgers are often undesirable members for an alliance to have.

 

Pixel Hugger

A player who deliberately avoids wars or acts against his coalition’s war effort, in order to preserve their infrastructure.

Every time a global war starts he VMs. I’m pretty sure he is a pixel hugger.

Whale

A nation of the highest tier, among the highest city counts.

That alliance has a huge high tier. Most of their members are whales.

Leader

The leader of the alliance

I would wait for our leader to post an announcement before you make any rash decisions.

2ic

Second in command, above high gov but below leader. Will typically take duty if the leader isn't around in their charge

I think once I retire as leader, I am going to have my 2ic take over.

High gov

Alliance officials in a position of high authority, influence and responsibility within their alliance. Typically department leaders.

He’s high gov, he definitely speaks for his alliance.

Low gov

A government member who works in one or more departments within the alliance, in a lower rank than high gov.

 

Government (gov)

Alliance members who contribute to running the alliance

Every member is expected to follow gov’s instructions.

Econ (EA)

The governmental department which handles the money and resources of the alliance. Usually tasked with managing bank transactions, taxation and grants.

Econ told me I have to repay my city loan before borrowing more money.

Foreign Affairs (FA)

The governmental department responsible for handling relations with other alliances.

My alliance is looking for a new protectorate, I want to speak to someone in Foreign Affairs.

MA/Milcom

The Military Command of the alliance, coordinating the alliance’s war efforts.

I need some advice on what to do in my war, can someone in milcom help me?

IA

The governmental department which handles all Internal Affairs of the alliance, such as managing the membership and facilitating internal organization.

I feel like the channels on the discord server could be better organized, I am going to message IA about it, probably.

Tech

A special department of some alliances, who develop and maintain tools such as bots, sheets or websites.

I can’t figure out this bot command. Can someone in Tech tell me what I am doing wrong?

Tiering

The distribution of a group’s (e.g. an alliance’s) nation sizes, measured by city count. An alliance may have a relatively high or low overall tiering, and may be focussed more-or-less narrowly into one tier, or be spread out among all or certain tiers.

Our tiering is extremely low, we’re all a bunch of c10s.

Grant

Financial aid given to members by an alliance, without any requirement to repay.

All new members are eligible for a $5M grant with no requirement to pay back so long as you don’t leave in 30 days.

Loan

Money or resources loaned to someone, either with or without interest. Loans are usually taken by individual players from their Alliance, an independent bank, or from another player.

Can I get a loan for the CCE project? With my current income, I should be able to pay it back in a week.

Offshore

A separate alliance used to store money and resources for an alliance securely to protect against war, looting and theft

I’m looking to withdraw a large quantity of steel. Whenever you get a chance can you send that to me from the offshore?

Raw

Raw Resources, referring to Coal, Oil, Iron, Lead and Bauxite. May or may not also refer to Food and Uranium.

What raws do you produce?

Manu

Manufactured Resources, i.e. Steel, Aluminum, Gasoline and Munitions.

I want to start producing a manu, but I don’t want to have to deal with constantly feeding it raws.

X/X tax

Shorthand for Monetary/Resource tax that their alliance has set their tax bracket to

It represents a percentage value based on your nations income

Macro

A less common term than micro, mainly used to emphasise an alliance’s distinction from micros. A large and/or relevant alliance.

 

Micro

An alliance deemed to be insignificant. Often measured by the alliance’s small size, but also commonly used to judge an alliance’s low tiering, incompetence, and/or lack of experience.

 

Embassy

A location where 2 (or more) alliances can converse

Typically via a discord channel

 

Treaty

In game political tie between 2 alliances

Paperless

Having no in game treaties

 

Bloc

A group of alliances working together

Sphere

Alliance Treaty Web

A visualisation of the Top 50 Alliances (above 30,000 Score) and their in-game formal obligations to each other.

Since the new bloc formed, the alliance treaty web has changed a lot.

Mutual Defense Pact (MDP)

Both parties agree to come to the other's defense if attacked

 

Mutual Defense and Optional Aggression Pact (MDoAP)

Both parties agree to come to the other's defense if attacked, and have the option to help in the other party's offensive endeavors

 

Optional Defense Pact (ODP)

Both parties agree to optionally helping the other if they are attacked

 

Optional Defense and Optional Aggression Pact (ODoAP)

Both parties agree to help the other if they are attacked, and have the option to help in the other party's offensive endeavors

 

Protectorate / Prot

A one-way MDP wherein one alliance agrees to protect another. The protected alliance is under no obligation to defend the protector.

 

Non-Aggression Pact (NAP)

An agreement not to attack each other

Apparently, after the last global war, the blocs involved agreed to a 3 month NAP.

Peace, Intelligence and Aid Treaty (PIAT)

Both parties agree to help each other and pledge non-aggression, but are not obligated to defend each other.

NAP

Non-aggression pact

After the last war, they agreed to a 2 month NAP in their peace terms.

Global/GW

A war involving most alliances in the game

When will GW69 happen?

Minimum military requirement (MMR)

Usually in the form mmr=4321 or 4/3/2/1, which would be 4 barracks, 3 factories, 2 hangars, 1 drydock

Since the NAP is ending, the alliance is moving up to a higher MMR as a precaution.

Beige

When you a lose war you get placed on the color beige for 2 days where you are protected from new war declarations

Sucks that I lost, but at least I can try to rebuild my military while I am still in beige.

Beige cycle

A strategy which involves multiple nations timing out the conclusion and beginning of their wars with a common enemy to ensure that even while they are in beige, they cannot rebuild their military.

I’m being pinned. I can’t effectively rebuild my military while they are beige cycling me.

War Chest

A “chest” of manufactured resources stockpiled for the purpose of fighting wars

My war chest can only last a couple more rounds before I need to start buying more war materials off the market.

Double Buy

Buying troops right before and right after Day Change (DC)

I need more resources. I’m going to try and double buy ships to break my blockade.

MAP

Referring to war or espionage slots. A nation has 3 defensive war and espionage slots

We can’t form a counter against your attacker because they are already triple slotted.
