0-1212: The Empire of Polaris goes on a streak of long conquest until it finally united Ursa under one banner. The First Ursan Empire is formed.
1212-1698: All members in the house of Polaris has died, the House of Vistok is proclaimed as the new royal family and proclaims the Second Ursan Empire, with a new flag change.
1698-1842: After some struggle against the Orionites, Ursan establishes a colonial presence in the Northern mots portion of Hydra. This the largest extent of the Second Ursan Empire and Ursa as a whole.
1842-1855: The House of Vistok is replaced by the House of Magor, whom made Ursa into a federation instead of an empire and changed the flag once more, which is still the flag we use today.
1855-1902: A wave of instability in Ursa disturbs the economy and makes Ursa vunurble to collaspe at any second.
1902-1905 (The Grease Wars)
The Grease Wars was a point in Ursan history where Hyrudsite miners in the Hydran colony started to rise up and made a proclaimed state with an armed paramilitary. The paramilitary started to aid Lepan rebels in the Lepus colony, which caused them to rise up. Now with a weakend Ursa, the Hydran and Lepan paramilitaries, with a bit or Orionite help, started to invade Canis. Our military at this time was in shambles and couldn't fight back. So the rest of our soldiers set oil rigs and grease on fire causing forest fires all over the continent and making the colony useless for a good 10-15 years. We surrendered over the colony after that, marking the end of the war.
1905-1938: After our embarrassing defeat, we saw a chance to redeem ourselves in Centuara. Antares was doing a conquest and was having trouble against Riaan, so we allied with them and surprised attacked Riaa from the north. With them fighting a two front war they quickly crumbled, after we help Antares annex centuari with us getting a couple of naval ports and resources out of it.
1938-1962 (Forman Wars)
We were involved in the first Forman War, our involvement was rather little. We joined the side of Antares against Orion, Hydra, Libra, and Aurigia. After a long naval battle and some island hopping for Hydrus, they eventually reached the mainland in 1952. The country was in shambles and panic, the economy crashed and shortly after, The House of Magor went missing, most well accepted theory is that they moved to Antares to avoid capture, and so did a lot of the higher ups in Magor.
1962-2000: After the loss of the Forman Wars, we had a lot of restabilizing and rebuilding to do, the new leader, Ivan Mallory proposed the idea of communism to the country. All it did was make him have unchecked power and crash the economy even more.
2000-present day: After a few far right policies were implemented and some social policies were lifted the quailty of life in Ursa got somewhat better, still not a stable country in the slightest. |
