History: In 1928 the nation of Leonia was a puppet state of the dictatorship imposed by the Arietic Empire. The first leader Francesco Pensato, started the revolt that ended with the victory of the Franciscans. Pensato established the Mercadantese Republic. In 1932 the Arietics invaded the republic again, defeating it to reign for over 40 years. In 1972 a young Giuseppe Pullara became minister of Ariezia and with the amendment n°1 of the second June 1973 guaranteed the independence of the Mercadantese Republic. The new republic dominated until 1991 where after a long war against other empires it fell into economic crisis. With the death From Giuseppe, the government passed to his son Angelo, who revived the economy by declaring himself dictator in 2001.
