The Most Serene Republic of Jefferson was founded on March 7th 2107 by Henri Guisan, a Swiss-American politician who has advocated for Jeffersonian independence for just under a decade. The capital of Jefferson is Eureka, the second largest city behind Redding.

The Jeffersonian independence movement goes back over a century ago, when a few senators decided to "secede" from the union on November 27th 1941, which is Henri Guisan's birthday (This has caused him to believe that he is the chosen one by God for whatever reason, he's a bit schizophrenic) but only on Thursdays. This isolated incident didn't cause anything, but led to a struggle during the early 21st century for Jeffersonian independence. This too went nowhere, and the people of Jefferson silently yearned for independence. This was until 2106, when the nation was contacted by a party that has yet to be named. They provided guns and assured that if Jefferson seceded from the union, they would be protected by this party.
