| History: |
A group of sailors from what once was western Poland turned to piracy due to poor living conditions and managed to gain some land. Afterwards they established a nation, stabilizing the region, and creating a union with other groups in the area. Word soon spread of the union, causing more pirates to join in for the hope of freedom, security, and better living conditions. This is how the socialist pirate union has been brought into existence. Although the nation no longer uses piracy as its main business, the name stuck to honour the ones who founded it, and to be a symbol of freedom, that the pirates had. This is why freedom is an important part of our policies. |

Therefore, our economy is socialist, so no one gets to control enough resources to control everyone else, and everyone has their needs fulfilled. We use automation wherever it is possible, to give everyone as much free time as possible. Life is beautiful, we don't want to waste all of it working. The government funds education and housing, allowing our people to work jobs they feel passionate about. Money is used alongside bartering, which is often preferred. |

The Armed Forces of the Socialist Pirate Union were created as a defense force to protect our people. We will avoid using nuclear weapons, aiming to do as little harm as possible, but we will also do what we must to protect ourselves. Any nation willing to attack our home will be met with a counterattack with any means necessary, including direct warfare, economic sanctions, sabotage, and aggressive diplomacy. We will try to defend ourselves with every bullet we have, and if defeat is inevitable, we will make sure to cause as much loss on the attacking side as possible, whilst trying to give up as few resources as we can. Even if we lose, we will make the enemy lose harder, if not trough military strength, then through depleting the opponent's economy. |
