History: | In the territory of modern Slavyanoserbsk, since the first half of the XVIII century, there was a winter garden of the Zaporozhian Cossacks, known as the Podgornoye tract. The Podgornoye tract was a long-standing winter shelter of the Kalmius palanka of the Zaporozhian Sich above the Seversky Donets, mentioned at least since 1740. On the site of the settlement, companies created field fortifications — trenches. The servicemen received the land they were supposed to cultivate. New settlements that arose on the basis of military units eventually received their names. So, the 8th company formed the village of Podgornoye. There is no... But the city is nothing, it's good... The school is ordinary, there is for a simple title, but there are no such things about great learning...").
