The Carlian Colony of Tennessee is a stellar colony of the United States of Carlia. After the chaos of the 2020s, a race of Intelligent parrot-like species saw a opportunity in getting a hold of samples from one of the planets they have been looking out for awhile.. that being Orbis.
The reason why they chose Memphis is because of it’s location.. seeming like a important major transportation hub.
Now the reason why they had interest in Obris anyways is because of the geography and climate of the planet itself. Orbis has uncannily similar geography and atmosphere to that of Carlia’s home world, Delta C-1.
Recently, the USC has been making great investments into space travel and such- while their military tech is still in the late 2020s. (Basically just modern US equipment and such)
Soon, they sent a small group of Communication and transport ships to Orbis.. taking around 6 years.
The transport convoy in question held a single battalion of infantry.. followed by diplomats if needed.
What they found once they reached the surface was general chaos; Looting, Organized Crime, the Shabang. See; Organized crime has been a huge challenge for the city of Memphis and its government for awhile now. Recently, it reached a limit point and once the downtown fell to one of the gangs, the police forces and government were unable to coordinate and would collapse.
The Battalion would quickly establish some sort of military garrison near the Inter’n Airport, using the base as a means of quelling the chaos. Soon, with the gangs really unable to fight against a new well trained and armed force, they would fall one by one. The city would be cleaned up but with a cost- a cost of Infrastructure and population. Things are looking up how ever as major power plants have now been set back online giving power.. will the USC be the ones to actually fix Memphis? time will only tell for this historic, yet struggling city.
