The Special Disaster Response Team (now known as S.O.N.G) is a governmental organization created to deal with the Noise. It has two distinct sections. Section One handles evacuations from the Noise, diverting and distracting Noise, and cleaning up wreckage afterwards. Section Two functions similarly, but with the addition of controlling confidential information, and possessing the Symphogear system, which allows them to engage in combat missions against the Noise.

History

Section Two was established ten years prior. Before that, during World War II, its predecessor was the Kazanari Agency, an organization founded by ex-military forces that was the birthplace of anti-Noise research.

Section Two was initially commanded by Fudo Kazanari. However, Fudo stepped down from his position after the mysterious disappearance of the second classified relic, Ichival, when it was stolen by Finé during construction of the headquarters. Genjuro then took his place as commander.
