BACKGROUND

Terra Populi gained independence from the Independent Christian Republic of Florida in 2009, following the collapse of the United States in 1999. Initially led by the originally satirical Florida Communist Party, the nation quickly established itself as a legitimate state. Despite its relatively recent formation, Terra Populi has made progress in developing its economy and infrastructure.

The nation's culture is characterized by strong communitarian values, social liberalism, and a deep respect for democratic principles, which are integrated into both governance and daily life.

GEOGRAPHY

Terra Populi is located on the west coast of Florida, extending from lower north central Florida to the Everglades. The country experiences a subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The most prominent geographical feature are Tampa Bay and Lake Okeechobee. Terra Populi's natural resources include uranium, coal, and iron, which are vital to its economic development.

GOVERNMENT

Political Structure: Terra Populi operates under a government system with three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. The legislative branch is bicameral, comprising the House of the Workers and the House of Representatives. The judicial branch is led by a Supreme Court with 23 judges appointed for 16-year terms. The executive is headed by the Primus Operarius, who is elected by popular vote for a 6-year term and can be re-elected twice. The country follows a Communist Democracy model, where all industries are worker-owned and operated democratically.

Economy: The economy is centered on worker ownership and democratic management of enterprises. Major industries include resource extraction and steel production. Terra Populi is a member of the Federated States of Orbis alliance, benefiting from trade agreements and economic cooperation. The country is focused on developing its economy further and diversifying its industrial base.

Social Services: Healthcare is free at the point of service for all citizens, though the system faces challenges such as a current shortage of doctors. Education is also free and follows a modern curriculum. The government provides proportional Universal Basic Income (UBI) and various social welfare programs to ensure the well-being of all citizens.
