History: After the ethic cleansing of aboriginal Australians by the British-backed Australian government, a series of revolts broke out all over the continent. The majority of the revolutionaries formed into one major group, the Socialist Freedom Party, with the aim of restoring true democracy to the continent. After six long years of fighting, several Oceanic nations joined the fight - New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Nauru and Fiji. With the world frowning upon Britain's last colonial stronghold, the United Kingdom withdrew all support from the Australian Populist Party, leaving it to fall to the rebels. In the aftermath of the war, the Free Oceanic Powers merged into one great nation - the United Republic of Oceania. For years, the republic prospered in peace, until the death of First Minister Evangeline Porter at the hands of an Australian Nationalist. After the next election, the National Party came to power, led by Revali Noname. They set about re-writing the constitution, taking away the rights of all Oceanics not deemed to be "pure", and directing all power to the First Minister. These changes were met with rebellion, and the continent is now deep in civil war, with the opposition party remaining in Tasmania and New Zealand, with the intent of one day restoring democracy.
