History: The Exalted Kingdom of Leicester was founded in November 2093 after the collapse of the Earldom of Leicester. The history of the Kingdom is divided into three chapters.

Chapter I - The Breakaway from England

Leicester was facing a myriad of issues such as overpopulation, economic collapse and the onset of nuclear war which had destroyed much of the Earth's natural ecosystems and led to a sharp decline in the production of food. In 2056, James Seymour, a prominent businessman in the city began to feel these issues even though him and very few others had the ability to live lives in luxury. He began to rally a cause of creating a new, self-sufficient state of which Leicester would not need to rely on the corrupt and inefficient government centered in London.
On February 23rd 2057, he started his electoral campaign to become the Member of Parliament for Leicester and spent huge sums of money in order to fund it. He also asked for public support after pledging to spend Leicester's budget on relieving the poor and revitalising the economy.
On March 15th 2057, a city-wide census was sent out to see whether the people of Leicester still approved of the current MP (and the government as a whole), or if they wished for a total by-election in the city.
On March 22nd 2057, the results came in and appeared to show a great disparity between those who supported the government and those in favour of James' electoral bid.

On December 3rd 2057, the by-election started and the government -supported candidate had gained a slight lead due to the rich (who were mostly in favour) blockading the ballots. Even for this slight lead, it was still not enough for their electoral bid, to be in any way, shape or form, a threat to James and his party.
On January 1st 2058, James Seymour was elected the new MP for Leicester, and immediately began diverting a large portion of the budget to fulfilling his electoral manifesto.
On February 4th 2058, he called for a referendum for secession from Britain itself (which by this point had been shattered by nuclear war and on the verge of collapse), and around 86% of the population had voted in it, and mostly voted in favour of secession from the state.
On June 7th 2058, Leicester declared its independence and was established as the Republic of Leicester.
