History: Legend says the Vizcain people originated after the merging of settlers from two different nations who decided to share the land, attracted by its unexploited mineral resources. This resulted in the nation's first settlement Vizcaino, whose new-born community would develop its own identity and eventually gain independence. From this city new settements would be founded as its people quickly expanded to the surrounding land.

Due to the mixed origins of the country, the first Vizcainians practiced both Catholicism and different branches of Protestantism alike, and would remain true for a great chunk of early history, an understudied period known as the "Obscurantism Era" due to the scarcity of primary sources. The status quo would change however as Protestantism gained popularity and was made State Religion, followed by a quick cultural and intellectual growth which saw the nation expanding into most of its present-day borders and paved the way to the short "Ilumination Era", where monarchy was established as form of government. The new protestant establishment was soon hostile to Catholics with their creed was banned and quickly removed from public life, save for the northeastern corner of the country were the mountains proved effective for a persistent guerilla resistance which allowed the faith to survive.

However, not long during the religious warfare to convert the entire country, Protestantism would find its demise from power as the majority of Vizcainians quickly adopted a set of radically different ideas from mainstream Protestantism, with its adherents collectively known as "Doctrinarians". They were known for their zealotry and quickly took over the nation's destiny, with their most radical aspects eventually dying off to bureaucracy, not before almost eliminating all other protestant faiths entirely. Under Doctrinarian rule the country experienced an economic and social boom known as the "Golden Era".

During this period, the Council was founded and made responsible for laws and handling important decisions, remaining as the center for power to this day. The years to come, the country would experience cyclical times of abundance and depression, with the vast majority of the population practicing the Doctrinarian faith. However, by the late Golden Era, Catholicism grew in popularity beyond the northeast mountains as Doctrinarianism lost its moral authority to corruption and apathy. Soon Catholicism was present in all major cities once again, and gained tolerance from the general populance.

The nation would change course again as a new ideology made its way to the political landscape

Present-day Vizcaino stems from its last bloody civil war where a joint-coalition of
Geography
Continent: North America
Land Area: 37,417.16 sq. km
Terrain: The capital city of Vizcaino sits in middle of a circular-shaped desert with no major rivers, sometimes known as 'Llanura Central', which also serves as the nation's center in a geographical and political sense. This region also includes the city of Scott, one of the oldest cities in the country, born from a historic military base. To the south lies a more vivid and fertile plateau known as 'Green Fields' where the city of Tae-Seok is found, though its small size makes it part of the Vizcaino jurisdiction.

To the east, greener plains foster the city of Standford, the second-largest city in the country, only behind the capital, although no other major city forms part of the Standford jurisdiction.

To the northeast lies the city of Collstein, an important industrial center amidst a mild desert which has served as a conservative stronghold through most of national history. Its jurisdiction include the cities of Österreich, Rotemburgo, Shei, Amaranto, and the country's most significant and colder mountain range, home to the highest national peak (Monte Albán) and the cities of Fe de Monte Albán, Santa Gertrudis, and San Sebastián. This montainous subregion represents the longest-continuous Catholic bastion for the country, with the faith here surviving the religious persecution during the Doctrinarian and Protestant eras thanks to the fierce resistance of its vyzcaniard inhabitants. To this day they often challenge the central and Collstein authority for a number of reasons.

To the northwest stands the city of Pas-Encore, from which large plains extend and reach out to the Sea of Salsita, where the port of Playa Girón is found. The city of Unicornia also falls in its jurisdiction, and lies between Pas-Encore and the capital.

To the west we locate a densely forested area and the city of New Hope, a notable conservative stronghold which often clashes with the central progressist government, with no other remarkable city besides the town of Ponyville.

To the southwest we found ourselves back to deserted conditions across the Green Fields plateau, where there's the city of Leyda. Further south there's a large mountain range that cover the portuary cities of Polaroid and Noria, both the youngest major cities of the country, once homes to native vizcainians, falling into Leyda jurisdiction.

To the southeast the desert extends until yet another mountain range that shapes the southern borders of the country. Among the sparsely-populated terrain strikes the country's third-largest city, Fluttershy, with its jurisdiction including the cities of Orquídea and Celeste.

Finally, across the Salsita Sea to the west lies Isla Expansión, a mildly forested isle where its largest city Altamira guards the country's biggest harbour in the Bay of Altamira, an important commerce hub which often plays as the first glance to the nation from abroad.

Industries: The country's major industry is the Steel foundry, which is in high demand for domestic use as an important component in ships and military vehicles, as well as its many construction uses. During times of plenty, the metal is also exported to the international market, appreciated for its high quality. Previously, the Mining industry for coal and iron was also important as the main source of raw material for the nation's steel mills, but due to ecological concerns providers have since relocated abroad.

The Vizcaino Military Industry is known for its self-reliant capacity in the production of warships and tanks, exclusively designed and manufactured within the country, which has allowed it to cope with the high-demand of steel-based machinery during times of war. Although many petitions have been made to extend the national industrial to include the production of munitions or gasoline, state planning and strong environmental regulations limit the focus specialized on steel.

Finally, the rich uranium deposits found across the country's many mountain ranges allow for energetic self-sufficiency thanks to the renowned nation-wide net of nuclear reactors, which provide reliable and efficient power for civil, industrial, and military needs.
Military
History: The armed forces comprises two main branches: 1.- The Vizcain Royal Army, in charge of national defence since time immemorial, and 2.- Vizcain Expeditionary Force, for foreign affairs and aid of allies. Despite the country abandoning Monarchy many years ago, the 'Royal' label remains for many government-owned institutions and businesses. The Vizcain Royal Navy patrols the coastline and isles of Vizcaino, with its headquarters located at the Bay of Altamira, main city of the isle of Expansión, region once famous as a Protestant bastion with many failed attempts for independence in its history. The Vizcain Air Force flies for duty in times of need, with its main airfield stationated in the capital city of Vizcaino.
