The ranks of Gehinnom's Volksreich (the compulsory citizen's political faction) operate with a focus on the elimination of corruption and the representation of every Gehin. Being isolationist at their core, the country still maintains an active military in the event of an invasion. While the people of Gehinnom are quite religious, (89% identify as Abyssian Christian) there is a surprisingly extensive freedom of religion in Gehinnom.

Abyssianism

Abyssianism is a form of Protestant Christianity with esoteric focuses, and a general fixation on study and understanding of God. Abyssians believe in the Hypostatic Christ as well as eternal life through salvation. They do not condone the use of religious icons or prayer to entities other than God, but the practice involves the study and meditation on angelic concepts - though these are far from acts of worship or prayer.
 

Abyssians believe that the practice of magic or even Gnosis is rooted in heretical fallacy, but that cosmic wisdom is accessible through a proper relationship with God. The Abyssian's most cited example of this is Enoch, whom which they all strive to emulate.
