I try to record all updates to the game here. Each changelog post should have a relevant forum post, so head there for discussion: Announcements
05/09/2018 - Downtime Notice |
---|
This is a preliminary notice, the game's servers are scheduled for maintenance upgrades in about a week. These are automatic, and I'm not sure how long they will take exactly, but the game is running on 4 servers and each is slated for a different time, so there will be different downtimes associated with this upgrade. On May 10th, at 2AM server time, the game will go down for an uncertain amount of time as the database server gets upgraded. On May 10th, at 4AM server time, the forums will go down for an uncertain amount of time as the forum server gets upgraded. On May 10th, at 5AM server time, the game will go down again for an uncertain amount of time as the game's frontend server gets upgraded. On May 10th, at 6AM server time, the test server will go down for an uncertain amount of time as the test server server gets upgraded. That's all I know, my best guess is that the upgrades will be quick, maybe around 10 minutes of downtime, but it could be longer. Don't panic, and feel free to hang out in the Discord Server during the downtime. Posted by Alex 05/09/2018 04:15 am |

04/01/2018 - Donations Reset |
It's April already! Donations have now been reset for the new month. Note that the in-game price has increased from $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 each, meaning you can redeem 10 Credits for up to $100,000,000 directly in-game each month. You'll note that Credits have been selling for well over $10,000,000 on the market anyway, so this isn't a huge adjustment. 03/23/2018 - Web Notifications |
Good news everyone! I've been able to set up some web notifications for the site, so you can receive real-time alerts about things like new messages, new war declarations, trade offers, etc. in your browser if you enable them. You should be faced with a new popup asking you to allow (or disable) the notifications when you visit the site on Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. The system is new and probably has bugs, also a lot of things have not been included in the push notifications yet, but I hope you'll all enjoy the new feature. I think it will be really great for promoting activity and helping people respond to things in-game quickly. Posted by Alex 03/23/2018 04:07 am |
03/20/2018 - Using Vacation Mode to Hide Alliance Banks |
This is a clarification update, that using Vacation Mode is never against the rules, except when using it to hide/protect an alliance bank. This was already alluded to in the rules ("Vacation Mode is not intended for use as a tool to avoid fighting wars. However, using Vacation Mode for any reason, with the exception of protecting alliance bank funds, but including to avoid wars, is not against the rules.") and is now made explicitly clear, with a 20% deletion policy, that "Using Vacation Mode as a way to protect an alliance bank from being raided IS against the rules. If you are caught doing so, the bank will be promptly returned, with 20% of the contents deleted. If you suspect this is happening, please PM Alex in-game and he will investigate." The current offender has had their bank returned without 20% deleted, however that will be the policy going forward. You can read the entire Game Rules (which have not changed except for the addition mentioned above) here: https://politicsandwar.com/rules/ Posted by Alex 03/20/2018 02:22 am |
