Quick update on some changes to the game that were made today.

Baseball was disabled for a short time earlier today while I did some investigating into potential baseball scripting & abuse. Baseball has been re-enabled, with the following changes:

• Added increased security on reCAPTCHA for verifying if human. This applies to baseball, trading, and the game in general when it occasionally asks you to fill out a CAPTCHA.
• Baseball earnings after 1,000 games have already been played for the day will only generate 10% of the normal revenue for home games. The winning team’s revenue is not affected by this.
• There is now a rate limit on baseball game:. You can only host a home game once every 5 seconds. This restriction should be non-binding for the vast majority of players. It effectively caps the number of games played per day at 16,800. You can only play an away game once every 2 seconds.
• Ads served by Google have been included on baseball host/away game pages to create some random variation in the play button location which should help curb macro abuse.

There were two other minor additions unrelated to baseball:

A "Copy Nation Link" button has been added on nation pages next to your Nation ID field in the Basic Information table.

Six new winter city images have been added as default options: Nome, Stockholm, Reykjavik, Anchorage, Castelmezzano, and Antarctica

Donations have now been reset for the new month! You can now redeem 10 Credits for up to $150,000,000 directly in-game each month.

As a reminder about Donations, you can use up to 10 Credits per month on in-game bonuses like 1 Credit for $15,000,000 in-game money, 1 Credit for a set amount of Resources, 1 Credit for 100 Infrastructure, and 4 Credits to reset your City/Project timer. You can spend an unlimited number of Credits per month on cosmetic bonuses, like VIP, Player Ads, and Name Changes. The Game Rules have been revised.

This revision is a modification to the existing "Faking Vacation Mode" section of the rules, as well as the addition of a new rule against Screenshot Abuse. You will note that the previous Faking Vacation Mode section of the rules has been moved from under "Vacation Mode" to under the new "Screenshot Abuse" rule.

Using (or attempting to use) images on your nation page in an attempt to deceive other players is against the rules and punishable by a nation strike. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Faking Vacation Mode: Placing an image mimicking the Vacation Mode designation displayed on nation pages is an example of faking Vacation Mode.
• Faking Your Nation Page: Using an edited or old screenshot of your nation page to attempt to deceive other players by hiding your actual nation page information.

If you believe a player is violating these rules, please notify a Game Administrator (through in-game Messaging.)

Essentially, this rule change is to ensure that people are not using fake screenshots in their nation descriptions to trick others. Like the previous rule change, I'll offer ~1 week grace period to allow people to remove these fake screenshots from their nation pages if they have them.

The Game Rules have been revised, adding two new additions:

Faking Vacation Mode

The first addition is an additional paragraph in the "Vacation Mode" section.

As many of you may have noticed, in the past couple of weeks a number of players have started putting screenshots of the "This nation is in Vacation Mode for X turns" notice normally displayed at the top of a nation's page when they're in Vacation Mode. I've gotten enough confused/outraged messages about "how can so-and-so declare new wars when they're in vacation mode? They're CHEATING" that I am officially making it against the rules to do so.

I'll offer a grace period of about a week to let people remove these fake Vacation Mode identifiers if they have them.

Moderation as a Weapon

This second rule addition is an entire new section of the Game Rules.

Using (or attempting to use) Moderation as a Weapon is against the rules and punishable by a nation strike. An example of using (or attempting to use) Moderation as a Weapon is threatening to report another player to an Administrator or Moderator unless they comply with your request or demands. If someone is in violation of the Game Rules, you are obligated as a player to notify a Game Administrator (through in-game Messaging.)

This rule is being added to prevent players from abusing each other with threats of reports to myself or other moderators. It is now explicitly against the rules to do things like "hey, if you don't pay me $10,000,000, I'll report you for multis."
