REPUBLIC OF GREENLAND ENGAGES NEW BERMUDAN FORCES

Following the recent attack on Lunar military forces after all declarations of war on New Bermudas had been rescinded, the Republic Of Greenland has activated its GSC protectorate with Luna, meaning that any GSC nations called upon to aid Luna shall do so immediately. The Republic Of Greenland's recent naval detachment from 1st Fleet has continued its patrols of nearby international waters since being deployed in early August, and will now be assaulting the nation alongside the rest of the forces (all of which have been on standby.) For reference, here is the forces deployed:
- A strike force consisting of the ISS Rorke's Drift Excalibur-class battle cruiser (the flagship of the Imperial navy), two Athens-class frigates (the ISS Swift Justice and ISS Victory), one Proctor-class destroyer (the ISS Guardian), one minesweeper ship and one hospital ship
- 2nd Special Forces (3,000 men)
- 1st Airborne Division (20,000 men)
- 3rd Infantry Division (20,000 men)
- 1st Army Aviation Corps (Detachment of 10 attack helicopters, 30 transport helicopters, 25 VTOL gunship transports, and 2 anti-sub helis)
- 1st Armored Division (Detachment of 10 MBT-1 heavy main battle tanks, 40 AATH-1 tanks (army model), 10 IFVs)
- 2nd Air Wing (Detachment consisting of 10 MRF-1 multirole fighters, 5 CAS-1 gunships)
- 1st Bomber Wing (Detachment consisting of 10 HAB-1 MkII high-altitude bombers)
- 501st Airborne Ranger Regiment (Detachment of 500 men)
The forces have already arrived in New Bermudas thanks to their relative closeness, as of August 18.
ROG BEGINS INVASION OF CAPE CLUSE
Above the city of Cape Cluse in New Bermudas, a thunderous roar could be heard throughout the sky, slowly being drowned out by the loudening tones of "No More Tears" by Ozzy Ozbourne blasting on external speakers on the ships, planes and helicopters drawing ever closer to the urban center. In one of the large C-98 transport planes, members of the 501st Airborne Ranger Regiment and 1st Airborne Division prepared their parachutes while the large cargo bay door dropped open. As they neared their drop zone, the jump master shouted for them to go. One by one, they charged out and jumped into the cold sea air of the North Atlantic region, opening their parachutes after a few moments and drifting down into the city as police officers and local defense units attempted to shoot them down with small-arms fire, succeeding at forcing 12 of the men to fall, killing all of them.
Upon landing, the men were immediately supported in their endeavors by the ISS Rorke's Drift Excalibur-class super cruiser, the flagship of the Imperial Navy, and almost completely impenetrable to the slow and outdated New Bermudan ships and aircraft. Armed with enough surface-to-surface missiles to level a large town, not to mention the 6 55mm point-defense guns, dual barreled 12-inch gun turret, 4 C-RAMs, anti-air missiles, and missile interceptors. The ship's point-defense guns and 180mm anti-air missiles quickly destroyed 3 incoming F-22 Raptors, which were nearly 100 years out of date, before focusing on crippling a military shipyard.
Meanwhile, the 2nd Special Forces was inserted into the city via VTOL transport gunships, dropping them at key government buildings, civil centers, military strongholds and other valuable locations. The 1st Armored Division's detachment landed on the beaches via landing craft, unloading AATH-1s and MBT-1s, which distracted enemy fire. A squadron of HAB-1 MkII high-altitude bombers flew overhead at 30,000 feet, dropping over 80 50lb bombs each on troop formations deeper within the city and crippling a major enemy supply depot.
The 3rd Infantry Division, only one of the 12 infantry divisions within the Imperial Army, deployed on shore alongside the 1st Armored, quickly rushing the beachhead, only for approximately 35 of them to be cut down by enemy machine gun fire while the others took up positions behind their allied tanks as they slowed rolled forward, taking the majority of the hits for them. CAS-1 gunships overhead provided ample fire support from their 20mm miniguns and 70mm chin-mounted cannons for airborne forces who had already breached the city's outer defenses.
In the harbor, a lone minesweeper ship worked tirelessly under fire to clear the area of any mines, allowing the ISS Swift Justice, ISS Victory, and ISS Guardian, as well as a hospital ship, to take up positions there as well and clear the skies of any enemy air superiority alongside 10 MRF-1 multirole fighters sent by the 1st Air Wing.
By the day's end on August 18, approximately 25 square kilometers of land had been gained by the ROG forces, who lost around 112 men and had another 157 wounded. Most of the dead and wounded were from the 3rd Infantry. 2 AATH-1s were destroyed by enemy bombers, and a VTOL transport was shot down by an anti-air emplacement. The lone minesweeper ship suffered some damage, but is able to be repaired. The ROG managed to claim the lives of approximately 350 police officers and soldiers, though the exact number is unknown. 87 were taken prisoner and an unknown amount were wounded. A single enemy tank (one of two owned by New Bermudas) was easily destroyed by an MBT-1, and over 12 F-22s and other aircraft were shot down.
New Bermudas, if you're reading this, just know that the community is fed up and nobody supports you right now. If you choose to void this, we will all collectively ignore you and remove you from RP.
