After the revitalized (now late) empire of Greek Byzantium was sacked and plundered by the turks in 1724, a second anti-Ottoman crusade was launched by England in 1725. This culminated in the battle of Nicomedia where British crusaders and mercenaries defeated the sultans forces and cut their supply lines to the remaining European parts of their empire. The British crusaders then established the Anglo-Byzantine crusader state of Constantinople in order to stop any more ottoman incursions into Europe. Since then ethnic tensions between British settlers and the native greek population paired with a corrupt government have led to bouts of extreme violence. In 1998 one of the descendants of the last Byzantine Emperor proclaimed himself emperor Nikephoros VI and started a revolution. Although he would later on die in battle, his son, now Emperor Nikephoros VII would take up the fight and win. Now in the year of the lord 2001 Emperor Nikphoros VII has finally been proclaimed as Emperor of the Byzantine Orthodox Dominiam. There are hopes that he will lead the nation into a better future while securing its borders from heretical forces; however, only time will tell how well he will rule. May god bless his rule and may god bless us all.
